Lady Lillian* by KSisson; dA // Tumblr. Please no deleting links/sources, thank you :)

Here’s the ATC card that KSisson did for me in our exchange! (Here’s the one I did for her.) I liked how she drew masculine facial structures; since one of my postcards had Lillian’s face + good chunk of her outfit on it, I chose her for the card :D
*Character belongs to me, please and thank you <3

Ending my coloring experiment for Order of The Flowers. :) (At least, for now). For this one I wanted to try a method that some artists have (most famous one, I think, might be Adam Hughes) of laying down the inks along with shadows via Copic or watercolors or anything else. Then color the illustration and voila! I couldn’t remember where I had seen one of his tuts so I used this one. I recommend it! :)…That sorta kinda worked here. :/ For one, I decided to also experiment with using pencils as “ink”, tracing the official ones on Bristol from a sketch. That worked wonderfully, but the problem came with —what else?!— scanning the grey shades -_-;; Lala’s outfit (the orange one) for example DOES have shadows. They turned out too light after I tinkered with the levels and brightness/contrast of the thing. I also ended up shading some parts darker and lighter on Photoshop, but I didn’t mind. That helped a little, I think :) Lazy background again, is lazy :P

Photoset of the main cast from Order of The Flowers. Done between 2010 and 2012 with Prismacolor markers, Copic markers and Copic Multiliner brown pens. From left to right: Ladies Rosalyn, Lillian, Lala, Clavelle, Orkidya and Daegge.

Rebloggin’ my own art cuz why not? :) (thus to be copy/pasted many times)

I haven’t worked on this story for a while. Really need to get back to working out the kinks in it…maybe after Warchicks hullaballoo and other things settle down <3

Everyone Wants… by =JadineR
Continuing my coloring experiment for Order of The Flowers. :) This time, I wanted to try “soft” coloring, mainly using SAI’s watercolor tool. I ended up shading darker on Photoshop and depending on its own watercolor tools near the end though :BI think I came closer to portraying the pale color that I wanted for Clavelle’s albinism. Too bad you can barely make out the shaded parts of her skin ;_; (that’s me and my monitor maybe?)Lazy background again, is lazy :P Also, can anyone guess where I made a big mistake? (I noticed a few minutes before uploading. ;o; )

My character Lady Clavelle from Order of The Flowers. I mainly did this sketch to determine her skin color. Most Albino characters’ skins tend to be depicted with peach color (i.e. same as a “White” character) when they’re more a pale-slightly-peach color. So that’s what I tried to do. But I’m worried I’d get confused in regards to shading, or whether or not I did color an area >_> Still need to practice more on that part!

The second and third pictures are Clavelle pre-“Ladyship”, hence why her hair is with the “correct” lack of pigmentation. The third, specifically, has her eyelashes a darker ‘yellow’ for a better representation of people with albinism. It looks slightly strange so I’m not sure if that’ll be official >_>;;

What Happens Next is… by =JadineR
Had an idea. Drew it. I can’t explain anymore about it XD Tried out the same coloring way that I used for my Ice pic. I think I will try out one more pic in this way — I’d like for this comic to have a different coloring style. :) Lazy background is lazy. :P

So I’ve started thumbnailing pages for Order of The Flowers. This pleases me for some reason. 8)

I’m taking a while with the next page of Ara & Celi, despite it not having much, because of the guide that I have to make for the previous pages. Like the awesome writer that I am, I totally forgot that blank brochures/guides don’t really look good when a character’s pointing to something in it. Especially foreign languages ones, hahahahaha XD

Daisy’s Eye by =JadineR

Andddd this is the last one of the Flower Maidens! The last one of the main cast :DIt would’ve been too obvious for me to name her “daisy” XD So I opted for what daisy was in Old English — dægeséage (day’s eye) > dægége (daisy) > daegge. I don’t know, I think it kinda sounds cool :)I really tried to not use yellow as a color…mainly because the color yellow just bothers me utterly. For a while, it just makes my eyes hurt. I never use yellow highlighters, even XD;; (nobody cares about that) I drew her quickly with green to see if it works and she did look really good with it. But I was afraid that at some point it would look too much like the turquoise I had used for Orkidya. Maybe I’ll write a story where she wore green at some point, haha XDI also took too much time deciding her color because I overanalyzed fashion colors, choices and the concept of identity too much. :| I like how her hair turned out <3
