Happy 50th page! :D Well, that’s according to my stats on ComicDish and that’s counting the covers too.
…well, I effectively always know how to look at the positive there, don’t I? 8D To be honest though, it feels like I’ve drawn more pages than that. Maybe it’s all those drafts I’ve done XD
Anyway, I really like how the page turned out. It’s been a while since I’ve used German, so the compound word there might be wonky. That’s not the reason as to why I’ve not included an instant translation as I tend to do.
And — le gasp! TWO updates in a month! :D

I haven’t been around here lately, in terms of my art and stuff. Tumblr’s just gotten too unmanageable for me XD And really, I seem to be working a lot more and feeling a lot better, err, psychological-wise whenever I don’t go on Tumblr? Not sure how to explain it other than my mental health is on the upside. I’ve been getting bummed out everytime I’d go on Tumblr XD Now I just go on once in a while.
So have a couple of Ara & Celi WIPS (works-in-progress). These are from the next pages. The first one is about 60% done and the others are all being inked or about to be inked. I want to be able to have the 2nd chapter done before August, so I can have both chapters printed for the con at last XD I also have to redo some pages from Ch.1…

Anyway, double spread page! If it were up to me, I’d make an entire comic composed solely of splash pages and double spreads. I just love drawing them <3 Now toning them…:S

Ara and Celi Babies — New Year 2013 by =JadineR
I was supposed to have finished and put this up on New Year’s but my eyes needed a total break after pulling an extreme all-nighter on editing the minicomic x_x (3 pgs left…) So now it goes up.
These are characters from my webcomic, Legendary Beings Ara & Celi. I had this idea about 2 months ago: Ara (center), Celi (right) and Miyara (left) as babies >3> And it was going to be the first thing I drew this year. Therein lies the joke. A very bad joke, possibly. 8D Well, I pencilled it on the first, at least XD
Hope so far the year has been treating you all well. All *counts* 3 days of it.
WAIT it’s only been 3 days?! Why does it feel like more?! *sense of time severely whacked*

Now that the Anime Iowa Art Show results for winners has been announced, I can finally post this. This was done back in April, and it’s a piece I did for the Art Show this year. I didn’t go to the con, so it was nice being able to still participate in some way :)

I was trying to leave this idea for a cover or something but I realllyyy wanted to do it as soon as I could so I just decided to do it for the exhibit, haha. This is my character Miyara from my webcomic, in mid-process of transforming into her alter-ego Eternal Ara. :D Well, some idea of it. Someday I hope to make an animation showing what would be a nice, nudity-free transformation scene for her*….One motive of transformation scenes is for fanservice, really. ._.
This was actually my third try painting and coloring this thing. XD;; First I decided to mask the pencil sketch and then paint the background with acrylics. Except then when I erased it, it uh, peeled away paper pieces and most of the pencils ;_; And then when I tried to line the pencils with color pencils (a technique that I’ve done before to great effect) it just looked horrible. So on to the second attempt, this time having inked the picture first and then painting the background. Except I messed up apparently on the amount of masking fluid because a couple of places got paint smudged on them where I couldn’t fix them ;_; Anytime I tried, I’d ruin the paper…so third time’s the charm, RIGHT?! >8( (I was raving mad to the point of literally throwing away my photocopy of the sketch, my brushes and crying in my pillow into the night). So I decided to then throw caution to the wind and ink + color with Copics + other brands the picture itself first; I’d add masking fluid to the entire picture and paint the bg again as the last step. That way, anything happens I can either salvage the finished pic itself or just cut up and paste it on another paper or give up. Thankfully I only had two errors that were indeed fixable ;o;
It was also the first time I’ve used soooo much masking fluid in order to paint the background. My hands and wrists were literally aching after two days of erasing and scratching (the fluid had become so hard that I had to carefully do both.) ;___;
I’m sorry for colors if they look too bright. Scanning problems + PS sorta uh, didn’t help much this time >_> So forgive any out of place spaces as well v_v;;

Sometimes I like to look over my old art and think about how I’ve improved or not. Of course, it always ends up in “where did the me that did this go?!” XD Case in point this pic: I like to think I’ve improved vastly since I did this and yet this is one of the old pics I love the most :)
I was getting the ATC itch so I drew Hostar :) I forgot what was my original intent here though…
